Pixel Plaid Throw Quilt

This geometric pattern is designed by Tiffany Horn of Village Bound Quilts. I had the honour of pattern testing it for her ahead of its release. In a lovely spring (or wintergreen) pattern of greys and greens, I have tried to accent the transparency aspect that this design has. The lovely soft green floral fabrics are by Rifle Paper Co. and they are set with Kona solid fabrics (the industry standard for a reason) as well as two different shades of Essex linen (55% linen/45% cotton) yarn-dyed fabrics. The backing is the softest yarn-dyed “Mammoth” flannel in oyster and soft grey plaid. Machine quilted with a diagonal crosshatch, and bound in a soft “old green” Kona cotton, this quilt is pre-washed and ready to ship.

Solid and print fabrics, flannel backing, thread, and batting are all 100% cotton; Essex yarn-dyed fabrics in steel grey and light green on the front of the quilt are 55% linen/45% cotton blends.

This quilt measures approximately 55″ square, a lovely lap or throw size.

Medlock Baby Quilt

This lovely pattern is called The Medlock Quilt, which I was happy to test for Tiffany Horn of Village Bound Quilts. A beautiful swirl of flying geese blocks create great movement in this design, and I love the little friendship star-like pinwheels that emerge in the brightest red colour. This design is done in Kona solids of bright warm colours and an icy pop of blue on a natural, undyed fabric background. The backing is a soft pale blue underwater print (it is pieced, but not in a very noticeable way). The machine finished binding is in a navy hash-mark print that perfectly frames the design. Fabrics, thread, and batting are all 100% cotton. Straight line quilting gives a modern finish. It is approximately 42” square after washing, with that lovely crinkle that only gets better in time.

Framed Flying Geese Quilt

This baby quilt features a design with an array of 40 flying geese, pieced in various woven fabrics. The colour scheme has complementary blues and oranges in muted, earthy tones, paired with “natural” cotton for the border. I love the softness that unbleached natural cotton brings with the little flecks adding lots of interest. The backing is a neutral repeating block print (also on an unbleached cotton base). A burnt orange binding is machine finished, and 1″ diagonal quilting lines give lots of that lovely crinkle and keep the drape of the quilt nice and soft.

Border, backing, and binding fabrics are 100% cotton; woven fabrics are either 100% cotton or 55% linen/45% cotton. Batting and thread are 100% cotton. This quilt has been prewashed in unscented, gentle detergent and is ready to snuggle. It measures approximately 35.5″ x 40.5″.
